Default Neodymium Speakers?

I just ordered the new Tritton 510 HDa headphones. The speakers are Neodymium. Anyone here know what that means? Ever heard of those drivers? No description on Tritton site. Thanks.

I googled it and I think overall, they are no better than regular drivers. A bit lighter, but not really any better sounding. At least from what I read about them.

It is simply the metal used in the speaker's magnet. As always, different combinations give different results, in this case sound. There are different types of metals used.

Are they rated a better quality? Should I expect a cleaner or crisper sound? Should I expect anything? Thank you for the input.

I've never really looked into headphone drivers, but speaker drivers, I personally can't tell the difference. It's always a personal opinion also, you like the sound or you don't. Some people like the PC350, I thought they sounded like crap vs my HD555s, it's a matter of opinion.

At least that's how much I know.

Better depends upon production quality -- but neodymium allows for smaller magnets by volume and weight to achieve the same level of magnetic force compared to other rare-earth magnets.

Basically, having neodymium magnets make the headset lighter compared to one with ferrite magnets. Whether there's a discernable difference in sound quality, I have no idea.

Thanks everybody,I should have them by Monday. I guess I'll find out how they compare once I have them on my head. I'll give an opinion once I have used them for a while.

I just tracked the headphones at Fed Ex. On truck for delivery today. Damn fast delivery from Canada Computers. I"ll game with them for a day or so,and give my opinion. I figure they should "burn in" in that amount of time.
