the Edifier M1380 @ 35$ or the Edifier M1550 @ 40$?

Haven't tried either, but at that price, logic suggests the 2.1 system will offer better quality.

I like edifier, but a 40$ 5.1 set? No thanks

yeah that was the logic that made me wonder too...I don't need real high end sound (currently using monitor/laptop speakers) but was going to spend a few bucks on a little louder system with a sub. was just wondering which would be better...2.1 actually works out best for me as I don't know where I could put 5 satellites!?
