The Corsair CA-HS1A (thats the analog version) is currently on sale at NCIX at 50$:

Corsair CA-HS1A $49.99CAD

now, is it worth it? how good or bad exactly are these things?

Depends what you want... They offer pretty decent sound and have a mic and that price is pretty good. Heard that they are pretty comfortable, etc...

They aren't super high end though. If you're not an audiophile, they will probably be great for your needs. I bought some senheissers HD 515, which were like $200 regular price and they have amazing sound, but I was more than happy with my $70 set before that.

thx, no I'm not an audiophile and was looking at these mostly from a comfort perspective. also was wondering if the sound card on an MSI NF750-G55 board would be atleast comparable to the integrated card on the USB version.

I have spoken to a few people, and we all agree that there are better headsets out there in terms of sound quality. We wouldn't buy it for $89.99, but for $49.99, it is pretty damn attractive.

I personally got one myself, and I have to say, for the current sale price, I would hop on it again.

Looks like a great set going by the reviews, and corsair has yet to let me down with a product. Whenever a manufacturer breaks into new markets (i.e. audio) I'm always a little skeptical -- wouldn't mind hearing back with some impressions from you.

I wouldn't suggest USB souncards. I got a steelseries one and I can't really tell you that it makes any difference... they have a lot of marketing hype, but I think it dies off at marketing hype.

I have a pair for a while now.

Very comfortable despite the size. They have take alot of abuse that would have typically broken the cheaper sets I have owned in the past.

Great for gaming, but I would not buy for music. At $50 I am considering a second set as a spare.

I wouldnt go that far. The 1's aren't audiophile grade by any stretch...but they are not meant to be. In their intended niche (gaming and movies) they are pretty decent for their price range. Not great, but not ThermalTake "gaming headset" bad either! And they are very comfortable. :)
