As time goes on EAX is becoming less and less important for gamers. With win 7 and its directsound, EAX is more and more disused.

I think you mean its lack of DirectSound, and that's actually not entirely true. Some newer games still use EAX, just through OpenAL instead.

I hear that even the X-RAM on sounds cards is being used by OpenAL now, so at least its not useless either.

Nice package, I have the PC350's with the Azentech Forte, I suspect sound quality would be similar and I love mine :)
