Default Power Outage Killed My Forte

I was listening to music Monday night and we had a power outage.
When I turned my PC on in the morning, I realized I did not have any sound.

Nothing on my PC has changed.
The sound card still shows up in Device Manager.
I can still playback a song and Windows says my card is functioning fine. So does Skype.
I tried 2 pairs of headphones and even took the card out and put it back in my PC.

I registered on Auzentech and e-mailed them but have not yet received a response.

Has anyone here had to replace their Auzentech X-Fi Forte 7.1?
I cannot afford to just order a brand new one from NCIX/DirectCanada.

Cheers,
Jeremy

Well contacting them was the thing to do. Just don't tell them ( if she is still under warranty ) that this happen after a power outage. I don't know for them but some time other brand decline RMA for that reason.

I told them straight up that it was a power outage. Too late now.

Well I never deal with them before but if they have a minimal good service they are going to give you a RMA number and a working replacement
Keep us up to date with all this!

I tried calling Auzentech's headquarters. Wow...

The line rang 9 times. Just before the 10th ring, an automated machine kicks in:

"Please enter your party's extension. If you do not know your party's extension, press 0, 0.

*Presses 0, 0.*

"Please enter your party's extension."

*Presses 0, 0.*

Nothing. 2 seconds later:

"Please enter your party's extension. If you do not know your party's extension, press 0, 0.

*Hangs up*

I checked the number on the site and even brought Auzentech up on Google Maps to make sure the number was there. Same thing.

Called again. Answering machine picks up just before the 10th ring.

*Presses 0 a few more times*

"Sorry, memory is full." *Click*

What the f...?

No response to support ticket, e-mail, or phone. Did the building catch fire or collapse?

I submitted a ticket to auzentech not long ago, and they usually responded within a day or two. Be patient

I am patient. I was just surprised by what took place via phone.
They have since responded with a link to their RMA form and instructions.

Glad to hear they got a hold of you. A lot of people seem to forget that a company typically has 24-48 hours to get back to you and if they dont within a the first few hours of your ticket it normally means they are busy hepling someone else. Also don't forget most businesses will only handle/deal with your RMA during regular LOCAL business hours only.
