Default Good 5.1 System?

Hey everyone,

I'm looking at purchasing a 5.1 surround sound system for my PC. I'd prefer if it came with optical and/or coax inputs, but it's not a must-have. There's a used Logitech Z-680 for sale locally. Anyone know if this is a good system or have any other suggestions?

Thanks for the replies. The Edifier does look pretty nice. Anyone know anything about the Logitech Z-680? It is for sale used and is relatively cheap. Apparently it was the predecessor to the Z-5500.

For a simple system, I'm liking the looks of the new Z506 speakers that were just announced.

Never heard of the Z-680 before today. But the Z-5500 suck...sub is to big compare to sattelite. Get the Edifier listed before they rock the house!

The Edifier set is a better choice than the Z-680s. A friend of mine has the Logitech set, and although it's decent, it's not anything special.

Not sure how much you want to spend, but Dell has these on for a pretty good price: PINNACLE SPEAKERS Pinnacle MB6000 300 Watt 5.1 Home Theater Speaker System : Home Theater & Audio | Dell Canada but you'd also have to buy a receiver as well which will run you $200-300 on top of that.

Granted I have no idea how good those speakers are, but at least you have many upgrade paths.
