In the computer world, yes. It does stand for something in the home theater and professional arena.

The card looks rather impressive and the spes are on par with other heavy hitters out right now.

The new Xonar Xense looks to me like a better card for gaming.

How would you know this? Specifications for the card aren't even out yet. At least w/ the Creative card you know it is a capable card.

I said it LOOKS better. I read the preview by ROBSCIX and it does 'look' better as a gaming card.

The Xense is a tuned bundle so the cans and source were tuned to bring out the best aspect of both source and the cans. Atleast that is theory behind the bundle as sugegsted by ASUS. Based on my early testing the card sounded really good for games and music. There are some new presets for certain genres such as FPS, racing. The headphone amplifier also has a specific setting for the included PC350 'Xense Edition' cans.

The specifications of the Xense are actually lower then that of the STX/ST or HDAV although it has very similar circuit design for headphones.
The reported measurements of the Titanium HD are also higher. How that will relate to actual sound quality remains to be seen or rather heard.
The card was tuned to produce a certain sound signature so the specifications are a bit lower then the other cards in the Essence series. The Xense does sound very good though based on my tests....
