320 kpbs CBR is the "max" setting an MP3 should have. It's known as Transparent, because most people cannot tell the difference from the original lossless source and the 320 MP3, given your everyday sound equipment.

CBR is worse of the three for space only. ABR and VBR are adaptive (i.e, more data will be given to more intense sections of a song, instead of say, a silent section) - giving it an advantage in quality over a particular filesize.

it's always a tradeoff of quality versus space.
