IMO...converting those to mp3 at 320kbps should be fine. Most likely you won't be noticing any difference with those devices.

Foobar2000 has the conversion ability too. Great little tool

Do you have ffdshow installed? I'm fairly sure it's capable of playing FLAC and WMP should detect and use ffdshow.

Sorry didn't see you post.

I'm not sure if CCCP has ffdshow. But either way, even I can't have a playlist in there, no point in keeping it as FLAC. It's a pain clicking the file every 5 minutes.

Well I honestly have no idea why I have Supertramp in FLAC, but it's all I have. And I don't even listen to it...must of been for my parents.

Seem to be able to add them to a playlist fine in WMP12 (Windows 7) and play them fine. Of course there's no proper tagging or anything, but assuming you have your files named fairly cleanly it shouldn't be too bad.

Oddly it picked AC3Filter to play them. Still worked though.

Side note: I love that I have indexing setup on my Windows Server 2008 R2 machine that has all my media. Searching was basically instant :)

So I was going to convert my FLAC music to MP3 this weekend, then I remembered something.

What MP3 format should I use? Variable bit rate, average bit rate, or constant bit rate?

I did some research and they say CBR is the worst out of the three?

depends a 320 kb/s CBr is better then any other because it's taking the most data instead of chopping it, VBR it guesses on how much data it needs.
