Before I Pull The Trigger

I've decided to get the HT Omega Striker for 2 main reasons.
1. It will get me off onboard and let me enjoy my headphones
and
2. It has digital input for my xbox 360.

I just wanted to confirm with you guys that I will be able to connect my xbox to the sound card using the optical cable, and it will output through my headphones via analog? If not, I'll most likely go with the Auzentech X-Plosion seeing as how it's almost identical besides the added digital input.
