The Shure SRH840's are on sale for $199 ($50 off) thru Future Shop. I just grabbed a pair of these as I had my eye on a set ever since they were released and they are great! I pair it with a Decware Zenhead amp or iBasso D3 Boa (USB DAC/Amp) for optimum sound but it's really not necessary if you have a decent source to drive them.

^Erm...yeah. See 4 posts above. If you are wondering how they are I think they are great for the value. I have about 20 hours on mine and the soundstage is continuing to get better. According to Head-fi it takes roughly 50 hours to burn these babies in.

I have the SRH840 headphones as well, they do sound great, and for an added bonus, I can wear them with my reading glasses without a whole pile of discomfort, not like cheap headphones.

I always remembered it was agreed on 75hours and up. Hm...I saw you the other day on headfi

Anywho, I have had a couple of SRH440s, and later decided to upgrade to the 840...As soon as Futureshop gets in the SRH750 DJ, guess what

For most yes. Some even say 100 hours +. While others don't believe in a breaking-in period. But the majority agree 50 is good for the 840s in the threads I've come across. Cya on Head-Fi!

I've using Shure audio equipment for a while now. I trust their quality since they're built like tanks, and their quality will never disappoint..

Although..I should stop buying these SRHs, people might get suspicious
