Right now, Senny PC151's. My next set will probably be the 555's.

Just to let everyone know I settled on the SRH840's. So far after burning them in they sound awesome! I don't really have anything else to compare them to but they're sounding good. I'm waiting on an amp do be delivered so that should improve them a bit as well.

I think a little Fiio E5
Not the best and brightest, but heck for 20$ you can't go wrong, and at that impedance level, the background hiss of the E5 should be negligible.

Once you're ready to move on I recommend one of these guys for the home

I've had the HD555's for about 4 years and am in love with them. Can't use them in public tho as they're open ear headphones. I don't have/use an amp though, I just plug it straight into my sound card with the converter jack. What would an amp do to benefit me?

Also to quote a guy from OCN

"According to this here on HeadFi (the world's biggest Audio Enthusiast forums AFAIK) say that the HD555s are the far superior choice, and that the increase in price for the HD555s is more than worth it for the increase in audio quality."

Well yeah, that's compared to the HD515s. But there are much better headphones than the HD555s.

It indeed was the Fiio E5. $15 actually not 20! Waiting for it to be delivered from Hong Kong along with a few other products I bought from that site you linked me to Jackie. Curious to see the differerence that little amp will make, if any.

edit - Ya there are better phones than the HD555's. I was considering them but these SRH840's I got for the same price as the regular price on the HD555's. They are professional monitoring headphones too so should be good for when I can finally afford to pick up an electronic drum kit (can't decide if I'm going to get the DTXpress IV special, a Roland TD4 or build my own kit!). That and I bought headphones as to not annoy my GF with the noise from my gaming That's what my speakers are for. The drumming may still annoy when the sticks are hitting the pads, but no big deal!
