Default Creative X-Fi Extreme Gamer to ASUS Xonar Essence STX

Guys,

I'm thinking of moving from my X-Fi Extreme Gamer card to an ASUS Xonar Essence STX. Is the difference substantial or incremental in your opinion?

I mostly use the sound on my computer for gaming but I do listen to music too but it is more secondary.

I'm currently using Sennheiser PC350's.

Go for the Forte with its dedicated headphone amplifier. That way you'll get better sound and still retain all the gaming features of an X-Fi card.

Essence STX is designed to handle high impedance headphones. Excellent choice if you can't catch the Forte

The Essence STX has a great dedicated amp on board, only problem....PRICE

I ordered the Forte today after some exhausting research. I'll let you know the end result over the X-Fi Gamer.

OMG!

Anyone with an XFI Gamer (possible others) you need to do yourself a favour and upgrade to the Auzentech Forte 7.1 now....like right now!

I can't belive the difference. Words can't describe it!

I would say Xi-Fi Xtreme Gamer

Better tech support
Better documentation
Better drivers

Universal support since its brand name and been around longer

Better availability

and The Fatal1ty one looks sick... :)
