Default PC Gaming Headset

So, I tried the Sennheiser PC350's and was horribly disappointed... So what would HwC suggest instead? Integrated mic is a good thing to have, but not a requirement. Been looking at Steelseries models as well as some regular Koss headphones (I've always liked Koss).

Ideas?

What about a set of Grado's with a separate Mic. What didn't you care for about the 350's CM?

I found it very difficult to get an even tone out of the PC350s. Ill explain: I'm a musician. I love sound quality. And when I listen to music, I like even tones so that no one frequency is dominating any other. With the PC350s i wasn't able to get clear mids - the result is far too much treble, especially in games (BFBC2 w/ War Tapes sounded god-awful). There was too much "tin" sound and everything else seems muted unless i increased the volume to near-painful levels.

By comparison, although lacking in treble some, my old Zalman 5.1 headphones have much better mids. Not much on bass either, which is why I had wanted to replace them.

Budget is $200, probably going to buy from futureshop since i have a gift card from there.

Get this....I know they're crazy expensive but Oh my God are they amazing. Got mine direct from Beyerdynamic before NCIX had them

I got one recommendation. It's something I use when I don't use my SRH840s.

IMHO, i think that if you have that budget you would be better with a good pair of Grado, beyersdynamics or AKG with a separe microphone. It would sound a lot better than using a all-in-one headset. As you'll have a really good pair of cans.

Else on my side im a bit cheaper, im using a Microsoft Lifechat LX-3000, works great but i don't use it for anything else except teamspeak.

Actually I ended up going with this suggestion (thanks Jackquelegs) as they are extremely comfortable and sound great too!

The velour padding is very easy on the ears.

Sound quality is great for something that's 70$. You are absolutely welcome
