You might be right for the S9; as I said, I'm working with a D2, which required ALL videos to be resized. That said, it's technically classes a "music player" not a "media player," so that might be one of the advantages of going to an S9.

S9 should be more powerful, so it can play larger resolution videos than the D2. I too had used the D2 in the past. The converter program is very simple to use. Just need to drag and drop files, and choose the D2 profile. It's actually the easiest video converter that I have ever used.

The S9 is an awesome media player! It's probably the best available. Not to mention, it's the highest rated for sound output quality. And most video formats should play natively with no conversion required. My cousin has one and he's always drag/dropping xvids on it to watch movies. And the OLED screen is amazing!
