Smile Best All Round Sound Card?

Hey guys, I was hoping you could help me out in picking a sound card out.

I have been looking at the FATAL1TY Champion series Creative Sound Card. So far it looks like a great card for gaming.

But I don't know how it performs on movies and music I want a Sound Card that will deliver the best performance in Gaming, Movies & Music. I don't know much about Sound Cards but I would really appreciate any input you guys may have on what the "Best" Sound card is.

Thanks!

Asus Xonar D1/DX, I swear by them. EAX support is useless nowadays, OpenAL FTW.

The Xonar DX is in that price range, and I love mine. That and my Sennheiser headphones made me a better COD player, because I could actually hear the footsteps and where they come from.

Pretty much anything will be better than your onboard. Though, it all depends on what speakers you are using too. If you are outputting to a receiver, anything with a SPDIF out will do, as the receiver does the decoding then.

I use Logitech X-50 or something likes that 5.1 Surround sound speakers & the Razer Megalodon Gaming head set (Not sure on the megalodon spelling) Looks like the Xonar DX Sound Cards are winning so they will definitely out perform the Fatal1ty champion series sound cards in Gaming? (Seeing as gaming is most important to me I thought I may as well check)

Thanks guys!

Nice, Maybe I should go 7.1 so I don't have to update when it becomes more popular..

I went with the Auzentech Prelude, really good card both for gaming as well as movies, music etc. Or if you want a PCI-E card I recommend the Auzentech Forte.
