I just got my Sennheiser PC350's. I notice they only have a stereo headset jack and a mic jack, so that means they are not truly surround sound, but emulated/simulated.
For true surround sound, do you guys think I would be better to go with these headphones?

True surround headphones are 99.9% garbage. A good set of real headphones will give you better sound quality and just as good positioning compared to a "real" 5.1 headset.

Please explain yourself. My impression is that you're calling them garbage because their price whereas the stereo equivalent is able to do positional audio that even an audiophile could not differentiate from true surround.

Am I correct? If not, please clarify.

I'm calling them garbage because in general, they have lackluster audio quality, are fairly expensive, and are no better for gaming than a truly good set of headphones.

I second this, most headphones targeted as "surround sound" is nothing but a gimmick, and you can get yourselves better set's out there at the same price range. They normally have sub-par sound quality and the "surround sound" is nothing but a catch (if they where as good as advertised, would you not think that professional gamers would use them?).

Hell, my sound card + Q40's can imitate surround sound just as good as any gaming set, and I guarantee they sound much, much better.

I could never recommend a set of 5.1, though I never checked out the Razer Megalodon.

Surround sound headphones are definitely a gimmick. Laws of biology and physics simply don't allow the human ear to process positional sound (aside from right and left, of course) from speakers positioned so close to the ear. You need to have speakers adequately spaced apart and at multiple angles for any true positional sound.

Anyways, the PC350's you went for are an excellent choice and as good as you're going to get for a headset (headphone + microphone). I believe they use the same drivers as in the HD595's. You're good to go.

These PC350's are amazing. Especially in-game.
The only thing I would change is how tight they clamp to my ears.
This YouTube review shows how he uses a strip of velcro to tighten his headphones to his head more to increase the bass.
See here (1 minute and 13 seconds in):

Anyone care to comment on this?

Jeremy I was wondering how you like the PC350 for gaming, now that you've used them for over a month.
