Default Problem with sound card.

Heh, I seem to be having alot of computer problems if you have commented on my other threads :P I apologize.

I recently switched my p5n-e sli with a regular P5K, but theres a problem with the audio now. Whenever I'm using anything that.... has sounds, occasionally there are lag spikes in the sounds. I've tried using different speakers, and both the on board audio and a sound blaster live sound card. No matter what, sound lag spikes occur. Could this be the problem with the motherboard itself? or I probably made a mistake somewhere in installing something... I believe I installed the drivers for everything, but the problem occurs in every situiation.

ahah, my my its been a month.

Well actually, I solved it a a bit, turns out that the raid driver needed to be updated due to its lack of proper handling or w/e with IDE harddrives (found out on the Asus forums)
But!, it didn't solve the problem completely. Although it made the problem very less frequent it does happen every so often (couple minutes usually?)

And yeah grover, It stutters really fast.

Your card is likely sharing a IRQ with your IDE or RAID controller.
If you move the card to another slot this might remedy the situation.
