I just got mine a couple days ago but so far I'm impressed. I like it a lot more than my audigy 2 ZS. It has a much nicer sound to it with my 5500's especially with the fiber optic connection, which I hated using on my Audigy. Also it's not crackling in games like the Audigy does, which makes it completely worth the money.

If anybody is looking for the ALchemy version that is compatible with the Prelude it is version 1.3.0.0 and Auzentech has it for download until the new version is released. Here it is: ALchemy 1.3.0.0 Last edited by Robscix; September 10, 2007 at 05:33 PM. |

I've got a small question. I've got mine hooked up optically to my Z-5500's. When there's no sound playing the console for my speakers says there's no digital data, then when a sound happens the speakers pick up the signal from my soundcard but the delay cuts off the first fraction of a second before the speakers kick in. Anybody know why it's doing this and if there's a way to fix it? It's a bit annoying since short sounds like someone logging in on msn or mail being recieved are too short and just end up as a blip.

I am not sure about that. I would advise you to use analog cables to connect the speakers to the Prelude. This will give you far better sound then the digital will. The DAC's on the Prelude are alot higher quality then the ones in the Z-5500. Do a test, you should hear a difference. |

For the analog qualities. You have already proven to me that I was very much misinformed about digital/analog. I do like the upcoming digital features for movies though. Now I just need to talk my wife into letting me get one.
