So if u guys would help me out it wud be great btw specs P3 1.4ghz DFI ca64-tc 786mb ram nVidia 6800xt(agp) also what would u guys recomend for a gaming sound card (sub 60$ range) |
got the latest creative drivers? Tried turning off in the halo options...eax stuff like that? |
yah i have the latest drivers, ill try turning the quality down |
IF you had a card that supported Hardware EAX that might help out. See if you can get your hands on a Audigy 2 or a X-fi X-Gamer...those are the best bets for low ends cards that will still work as you want in gaming. Anything lower then that won't operate the way you want and will end up being more of a burden. Hope that helps. |
yah surprisingly i turned on eax and "tada" static disapeared while when i turned sound quiality down (dopler, 3d positioning) the static stayed oh well at least i got rid of it. is the xi-fi extreme audio any good? |

You'd be a lot better off finding an Audigy2 still in stock somewhere for around the same price. |
The X-fi Xtreme audio is a software based card. It has no hardware acceleration. Most people looking for a gaming card will want a card with a dedicated DSP chip. Such as the Audigy 2 or X-fi X-Gamer. I suggest saving your cash and getting a X-fi extreme Gamer. |
k thnks for the info |
