My System Specs

Default Looking to replace Z-5500 speakers with something better.
I bought the Z-5500's to use solely as computer speakers but recently added a Plasma tv & PS3 Slim to my setup and decided to use the Z-5500's as Home theater speakers instead. They're decent but I would like to upgrade to something better. This is just for a bedroom so I want to keep it small and leave the option down the road for swapping out the Z-5500 for a real Amp and subwoofer.

My budget is around $600 for the speaker package (no subwoofer).

The best option I've been able to find is the Klipsch Synergy Quintet III Microsystem at BestBuy for $650 but it is extremely overpriced (goes for $250 in US, been as low as 299 in Canada).

I want something of similar size to the Z-5500/Quintet speakers, do you guys have any suggestions?

Your correct it is Hawx.

And unfortunately right now in the PC world the z5500s are your only real choice for 5.1 speakers.

You can find them in circulation if you really look for them. But even then, even though its a little step up, I dont think going to that from the z-5500 is really justifiable.

At this point, its pretty much cheap bookshelves/sub/receiver, otherwise Z-5500 is your only option.

No, it is Ace Combat 6 on the 360.

I'm pretty sure the Promedia line would be a step down, I'm not looking for another set of PC speakers I want Home Theater speakers to use in the place of Z-5500's speakers. Eventually I will upgrade to a decent HDMI Receiver and add a good subwoofer.
