The Prelude and the Forte both use EAX 5.0 but they both are up to $60 more!!!

EAX is overrated.

BTW, what's a headphone amplifier? Apparently the Forte has one of those.

Actually the Xonar DX does have a front panel audio connector. The D2X does not.

I recently picked up a D2x but i think its a bit overkill, i vote for the DX

I've seen the Forte on sale for $90-$100 quite often in the past few months @ NCIX. Wait a while and chances are you could grab one.

Okay, thanks for all the input guys but I am really confused here! I would like to know which one is truly the best. What does the Forte & Xonar have over the Striker etc. BTW guys, is X-RAM a big deal? Are there any upcoming games that will use X-RAM? And I am guessing EAX 5.0 is a gimmick?

We've already told you what the good ones are and its up to you to decide which to buy based on how much you want to spend.
