Default Headset and Speaker...

Well this is really an odd question but here it is!

Just sold my old Tritton AX51 headset since I wasn't using them and well... I bought a new pair (Ah... the crime). Yes, I couldn't resist for those nice Sennheiser PC350... at a great price too. So here's the question, I have a surround speaker right next to my screen (You will see in the pictures). I want to hang them around the speaker. It is the perfect place to put them away. But before doing that I wanted some to know if it would damage the headset. Since inside that surround speaker there is magnet... I am no expert in that field. Also, since there a small pression on the ear cup, will the ear cup foam be squished over time?

Odds questions eh? Check the pictures, and everything will be clear.

Thanks a lot!

Nah that shouldn't be a problem. By the looks of it, it looks like it's really just balancing there. The cups are already fairly close together. You won't notice and settling of the cups. Also, those magnets aren't strong enough to pose a considerable threat to other nearby speakers.

They are actually "hugging" the surround speaker. That what I meant with pression. Such a convenient place for a surround speaker!

If they're hugging too hard, they might compress the pads permanently - I've heard anecdotes of such, and I can vouch that the padding on my own PC350's has a fair bit of a memory to it.

That what I thought... putting them hugging the speaker would compress the foam and reduce it's "width"... but let's say wearing them would do the same thing no? Or will it shape to your head after a while?

The power of "hugging" would be the same as it applies when you wear them? Does it change the situation?

Maybe, but theoretically, when they're on your head, they're at least compressing to match the contours of your head, which are (hopefully ) different than that of the speaker.

Well by the looks of his avatar they are very similar j/k. Chos3n... how do you like the new Senn's/ I've been looking at those for a while now. I really my Turtle Beaches but they get pretty uncomfortable after an hour or two of gaming.

Those are the best headset I ever own, they reek quality. Sound is awesome, really good stereo which sound better than 5.1 headset with Software emulation. The cup canceling is awesome, I can't hear my girlfriend talked to me pretty much! But just for the sounds, It's a wow...

So how do you put them away? Hanging from a hook? or just sitting there flat a surface. I am really pointy here, because fine I got a good deal on it, but it's still a very expensive headset... more than my old Logitech!

But really putting them around my speaker would really compress the foam that much?

Hanging rack for handtowels. Holds two headphones, has a weighted base, and can usually be had for a decent price at your local kitchen/bathroom place. And you can get all kinds of elaborate designs and metalwork for them. Another option for single headphones are banana hangers.
