Default Which sound option is best?

Which sound option should I use,my X-Fi XtremeMusic pci or the onboard sound on my GA-EX58-UD5?I am running Vista 64-Bit which seems negate all the benefits as it seems X-fi driver support is lacking at best. I found the X-Fi was good but I wonder if the motherboard onboard would be better.I listen to a fair amount of music and gaming but I only have a 2.1 setup.Any opinions welcome and appreciated

What lowfat said, unless you are having your sound processed by an audio receiver, 90% of the time onboard will be the worst. I found drivers with X-FI and Vista back when i used both, i'm you said that driver support is lacking

my XiFi XtremeMusic PCI is working perfectly on Vista64. The control panel is "thinner" in GUI richness than before but i find that a good thing... it still has ALL the options i was used to using on my XP Pro x86 machine (before the upgrade). To go from a XiFi card to onboard sounds crazy to me.

The xtreme music is a fine card my friend.. if you're even considering using onboard you're nuts!

The driver support should be there.. I'm using essentially the same card (just the "new" version) and the drivers are flawless in vista x64..

Great sound, onboard won't even come close.
