Yeah, I'm tempted by Soundigo's Inferno card. It's got rave reviews so far and could complement my multi-media really well. I like the idea Soundigo's concentrating on one product, and that it's canadian designed by a Dolby genius.

There are supposed to be very decent cards for the price. They have a great features set and the encoding features for digital are awesome for HTPC. One of the members has one perhaps he may give you his impressions.

I put it in last night. Awesome! I'll put a new thread later on, and probably I should post some pics. I haven't used it much so far, but the difference in sound quality is so huge compared to the AC97 that it struck me as soon as I heard sound coming out of my Sony sound system.

Presently I'm using DTS through the digital cable provided with the card. I can also use Dolby 5.1. The bass is coming out much better with either.

Coaxial seems to be the mainstream one I see, and its cables are cheaper. However, a cable is supplied with the card. Would this be your concern or is it elsewhere ? Otherwise the quality of output is the same. Though I gather hardware is more and more letting the digital out.
