What do you want the soundcard to do? Gaming? Music? Home theatre? Do you use speakers or headphones?

I got my auzentech xplosion installed the other day and I must say that music and GRAW2 sound far far far better now. :D
Screw onboard realtek ALC889A!
I can hear so much more now. :)

I second enaberif's suggestions.

Also I was looking at this AuzenTech X-FI Prelude 7.1 Sound Card. Is it worth the extra money?

NCIX.com - Buy AuzenTech X-FI Prelude 7.1 Sound Card PCI 32BIT EAX 5.0 - PRELUDE In Canada.

I think you should look at the X-Fi Forte. It has all the features you need, is much cheaper than the prelude, and includes a headphone amp. I recently got one, and I love it

Forte is the newer version of the prelude and only real perk is dedicated headphone amp and pci-x form.

Otherwise prelude is still a great card.

This is true, however, the other advantage the forte has is its really cheap (compared to prelude and D2X)

$104.99 after $10 MIR which is not much more than a striker.

Canada Computers - Sound Cards : Auzentech X-Fi Forte 7.1 Low Profile PCI Express Sound Card (AZT-FORTE).

NCIX had an extreme deal of the day that had it around that price, so it tells me that they can go that low and price match it.

The Auzentech Forte does not have the connections that I need for my Logitech X-540 speakers though. The Prelude does.

What would that connection be? AFAIK, the forte has everything the prelude has to offer. If you are looking for standard 3.5mm analog connections, it comes with it through an adaptor. NightRain has posted a good review of it here:
