2.1 set

Hey guys, I'm looking to purchase a new set of 2.1 speakers some time within the next two weeks.

I should mention that I have quite a bit of hearing loss and tinnitus in one of my ears. So in my opinion, high end speakers would be a waste on me.

They will be used purely for movies and music. I'll still be using my headphones for gaming and when I really want to enjoy music.

I suppose $50 max is a pretty reasonable budget considering I'm just looking for some sturdy and functional 2.1 speakers.

What do you guys think? (I know next to nothing when it comes to the quality of audio companies)

I have this set. The sound is great and crisp and the bass is boomy. The volume control on it is a plus but the plastic clips/holder things are hard to install.

The place down the street from me has that set for $52. Canada Computers - Speakers > 2.1 Speakers Systems : Logitech (970285) X-240 2.1 Speaker System (Retail Box).

I'll have to pay more tax but I think its still worth not paying the shipping or having to worry about it.

Also, how sketchy are refurbished speakers? They have one refurbished for $23. Canada Computers - Speakers > 2.1 Speakers Systems : Logitech (970285) X-240 2.1 Speaker System (Refurbished).

I'd go with the the Edifier M3300s. Edifier's got a good reputation with audiophiles as well as general PC users and have good build quality. That particular model can be price matched at A-Link for $49.99. Hope you find what you're looking for.

If it's down the street and if they have a good return policy, try them out. You can always return them.
