Only downside about anything refurbished is the limited warantee or protection that it comes with so if you know your girlfriend is a little "rough" with her electronics a new one with that 1 year, or buying extended coverage for the refurb may be a good idea.

Apple refurbs come with full warranty (1 year?) and the option to buy the extended warranty.

Huh really, i thought it was only a 90 day like every other manufacturer, but looking it up you are correct. It is a fully 1 year warranty, i'll be damned.

I'd trust an Apple refurb as much if not more so than a non-refurb.
