Default mic problems

Ok this is going to be a very very noob question, but how do I stop from hearing what my mic is picking up. I have the Creative Fatal1ty Titanium Championship edition sound card. If there is anyway of doing this please let me know. Thanks lots in advance.

but if I did that would I be able to use my microphone still to communicate in places like Vent and stuff?

Yes, see the microphone option to the right? That's the recording one, that will hear your voice.. If you mute the one I told you to mute, it will simply turn off the real-time mic (so you won't hear in your speakers what your mic hears)

Ok my mixer looks different than yours, any idea as to why that is? Here is a picture of what mine look like.

Mute the one labeled Microphone FP. That should work!

Wait.. that stands for front panel... hmm...


The one on the far right with the red REC, click the downward arrow, select "Microphone", and the MUTE the one on the far left that is labelled microphone... That should work lol.

The one on the far right has no mute, even when turn it down to 0%, I can still hear myself, thanks for helping me with this though.

Must've mis-read, mute the one on the left side, and change the right side one to "microphone", so you can adjust microphone levels, hardly ever will you find yourself using "what u hear" volume.. (Fraps uses it... )
