Have you checked your drivers lately?

Is the movie a legit version or is it a DL, if do is the audio track corrupt?

Try a different movie on DVD and see if sound is stable.

nah, i tried to playback the section that cut out to see if it was corrupt audio, its not and the lcd screen on the z5500's reciever is reading signal still. i will double check my drivers for updates.

I'd say codec related. Maybe update those.

How do you have them connected?
If it's via Coax/Optical, you may have to play a "blank" sound file to keep the unit "paying attention".

If it's hooked in via 3x miniplugs, it's probably a broken file.

Are you really pounding them? There is an overheat sensor build into them, if you listen to them really really loud, after a little while they'll turn off and on quickly to prevent them from overheating... this MIGHT be it, happened to me a few times, but music was very loud and for at least 30 mins
