I have my EQ setup but I'm sure it could sound a lot better.. I like a bit of bass, but only when it's supposed to hit bass.. and I like really crisp sound otherwise. I had a good EQ before re-installing windows but I can't seem to match it again..
Subwoofer crossover frequency: 80Hz
Subwoofer 15dB boost
Subwoofer level 85%
Anyone care to offer theirs? You can just take my pic and draw lines on it or so... thanks guys.
Smiley face is the standard and best.
Those mids you boosted are the goose honk annoying frequency.
I think I got it now, it's kinda like a ski slope with turned up highs.. if I turn down the mids it sounds even funnier.
There REALLY isn't a one-size fits all. Your headphones/speakers and your music style will both influence the best EQ curve for you. My own settings tend to give an overall boost towards the low end, although things get just a little muddy if I crank the very-bottom end. I find too much high-end starts ruining the percussion.
I'd suggest going through the pre-sets until you find a few that sound good, and take note of what frequencies they're enhancing or ignoring. Slide each band up and down the full range and list for what parts of your music change from it, and work from there.
Found my PERFECT setting... got rid of the crappy sounding bass guitar and kept the hard hitting bass drum. I love this setting, and percussion comes out clean just like it always did.
EQ settings are totally different for everybody as each set of speakers/headphones sound different.
Prime example, my Klipsch ProMedia Ultra 5.1s had way better highs before my amp died and I had to get it replaced. When I got them back, everything sounded so flat so now I have to bump up the highs.
Not to mention that everybody also has unique hearing and we all have different ideas of what sounds "good".
I suggest looking up the topic of graphics equalizers and how to use them for various tasks. This may help for when and why to use them.
for i modded the speaker system t7900 for had crappy bass that sounded like marbles in the speaker
took out the 6"woofer 4ohm
then used a logitech z5500 cabinet with 8" 8 ohm speaker
now i can above 15% without annoying sound deep clear smooth bass ;)
