My System Specs

Default Need new headphones, help

Ok i want a new set of head phones but have no idea what I should get.

It will be used for 99% gaming and my budget is around $100 ($120 max) it has to be from NCIX and I have a auzentech prelude sound card so output type doesnt matter.

I found the sennheiser HD555 for $120 Price matched, and the Steelseries 5H is on for like $80.

doesnt matter if theres a mic on them or not, I'd love surround sound but heard they dont sound as good as stereo headsets and you can emulate surround on stereo headsets wiht my prelude.

any recomendations?

just looking for a good gaming set. I dont watch movies or listen to music on my comp.

I am using these:

NCIX.com - Buy Creative Fatality Gaming Headset 8FT Noise Canceling Microphone W/ Volume Control - 51MZ0310AA002 In Canada.

I don't have any complaints as of yet, and the mic is detachable.

Have the 555s myself, can't recommend them enough. They're worth the little extra.

Umm for 99% gaming, if you play a lot of First person shooter games you should consider some thing else besides the HD555, the hd555 are STEREO headphones, they are best used for music and such, but i do find that they are not too shabby with movies.

With a good sound card you can set it to emulate 7.1 through 2.0 and it will sound at least as good, possibly better.
