Umm for 99% gaming, if you play a lot of First person shooter games you should consider some thing else besides the HD555, the hd555 are STEREO headphones, they are best used for music and such, but i do find that they are not too shabby with movies.
What this man says. As a fellow Head-fier I can attest that Sennheiser's upper mid to high end phones were designed to excel is music stereo reproduction. They work for gaming but with not give you the best results. I can't remember off hand but if you go over to Head-Fi.org: Headphones, iPod earphones, portable audio, MP3 players, high-end audio and do a search in there forum for gaming phones there is a list of recommended Phones that do exceptionally well in games.

Personally I use my Sennheiser HD650 for gaming only because it's the only set of decent phones I own.

Regardless of what everyone is recommending, I would advise you to check out actual reviews of any headphones you are looking at buying.

Or better yet, audition them yourself.

I'm about to order a set of Turtle Beach HPA2 5.1 Surround Headset.

I game a lot and listen to a lot of music as well. I found these a long time ago and decided i should try them since my Zalman 5.1 died just a few days ago.

Reviews are 60% 40% good on reproducing the true surround sound it's stating...

I'll see for myself! Can't be worse than my Zalman 5.1 Headset.

But one thing i can tell you m8, if you are looking for a gaming headset, you won't go back to Stereo ones once you try 5.1 Headsets.

ill give you a set of hd500s for 50 bux i used them for gaming and they were great. personally i prefer them to the 555's since they have a removable mini cable so if it ever shorts [like most gaming headphones do] instead of the headache time and money for fixin or replacing them you just get a new mini cable for like 5 bux.

I owned 5hv2 then hd555 and they are both good but I prefer the sound from the hd555 for music so I say go for hd 555

I tried zalman 5.1 in game it was an horrible experiance I was not able to know exactly where my enemy was with the sound. When I was moving around the sound it was like if that sound cuted from a speaker and goto an other speaker in a weird way... maybe I'm just not used to it I dont know.

The logitech G35 could put out some good sound for games. I use the Razer HP-1 and it works well, but the Razer Megaladon is looking like it could be amazing as well.
