Default AKG K702 or Senn HD595?

I can't decide between these too.. I plan on pairing them up with the SDX when the Asus card comes out and with the Total Bithead Amp for my Cowon D2 PMP (mobile use)

The K701 is a lot more expensive because it comes with some stand and the K702 is basically the same except comes in black (woot), has no stand and has a detachable wire so that is why I go with it over the K701

Any input appreciated, thanks.

SKYMTL, "AKG" is the company that makes the K701's, I don't think he was directing the post at any user in particular.

For what you are looking at I highly recommend a pair of Grado cans. Widely regarded as the best headphones in their price range (or any price range for that matter) and I tend to agree. I didn't have a whole lot of money to spend and went with the SR80's and they truly sound amazing, a lot better then headphones costing twice as much IMO. I'm not sure where in Ontario you live but if you are in Toronto head to Bay Bloor Radio and take a listen. They have a wall full of headphones so you can test them out yourself.

For anyone that may be wondering.. I've originally went with the AKG K702's but have since returned them for the Grado 225 (good call Nodscene)

I had a chance to test them all out (Sennheiser HD650 actually) and I've come to these conclusions

Sennheiser HD650 (needs an amp, sounds the worst without one, very deep and bassy, great for hip+hop, drum&bass, other bass heavy music)

AKG K701/K702 (same as K702 without detachable cable) (needs an amp, doesn't sound great without one, very neutral and perfect for classical, jazz and live recordings, but not very good for bass or rock/metal)

Grado SR225 (cheapest of the bunch but sounds the best for metal/rock/electric guitar lead music, great without an amp but even better with, very fast, electric guitars sound great, perfect for metal which is my main music)

the Grado RS-1 sounded the best but they're out of my budget for now (and will be something to upgrade to later)

I've had K141s for as long as I can remember. Still love the crisp sound. Not enough base, but for the Jazz I listen to it's perfect.
