Question about Audio out from Blue Ray HTPC to 24b 192KHz DAC Recevier
I have a HTPC with a blueray player (In Sig) that sends video directly to my 1080p television but I had no luck using the SPDIF adapter cable to send sound out through the HDMI link so I now have my sound traveling to my receiver using an audio coax cable. My receiver is a Harmon Kardon AVR 745 which has 24b 192KHz DAC so I'm wondering if it is decoding the audio signal properly or not.
The receiver shows on the display that it is putting out DTS sound, but I'm wondering if I need to use the optical output to get the optimal blueray sound, or will I need a higher end sound card.
The sound output is from the onboard sound (ASUS Commando) which has the following specs:
SupremeFX Audio Card
ADI 1988B 8 -Channel High Definition Audio CODEC
Coaxial / Optical S/PDIF out ports
Support Jack-Sensing, Enumeration, Multi-streaming and Jack-Retasking
DTS® Connect
Thanks
