Default Auzentech Prelude questions

Unfortunately, I have had to remove the X-Fi Xtreme Music from my new system, it wasn't playing nice. I don't know if it was the 4Gb RAM issue or another conflict but the thing kept refusing to start on bootup. So after days of checking for resource conflicts, swapping PCI slots, reinstalling drivers etc, I gave in and took it out.

I am considering an Auzentech Prelude to replace it. I am running Vista x64 and have 4 gigs RAM, both of which ring alarm bells with Creatives' X-Fi line.

Can I expect the same issues with the Auzentech card?
Does Auzentech use the same drivers?
Anybody on here have one with a similar rig, and any issues to report?

Thanks to all that reply.

I'm using XP64 with 4 gigs of ram and haven't had any problems at all with my Prelude. I'm sure someone else with Vista 64 will be able to chime in.

Thanks for that. Don't suppose any of you had a Creative card you had issues with first? Or is that asking too much? lol

I had lots of issues with my X-FI card and Vista 64 bit. You can probably google Daniel K and Creative drivers to find some information. I had to remove the card from my system to install SP1, then re-install it.

I had a problem with my old Prelude not outputting any sound but I am confident it was a conflict with my 780i as it worked in a dell fine.

I've had 0 problems with my X-Fi Titanium w/ Vista 64-bit & 4GB of ram.

Thanks. My concern is that because the Creative X-Fi card doesn't work with my system, the Prelude won't either as it shares the X-Fi processor and drivers. Has anybody had issues with the Creative card not working and changed to the Prelude? If so, has this resolved the problems?

I had a X-fi Xtreme Gamer, but I had some troubles with my mic. I decided to go with the prelude, and everything is working great!
