Do you have a local shop that will allow you to audition both sets? If it helps, I have tested out a few sets of 5.1 headphones and I still prefer a set of 2.0's. That is of course personal preference but most new soundcards have headphone routines for taking care of 5.1 virtualization such as CMSS3D for headphones and Dolby Heaphone. Both care great and do a great job of presenting a 5.1 virtual sound feild to the user. Hope this helps.
