Hey guys, I have just acquired this set of speakers from Cptn Vortex.

Everything was working fine for a few weeks, but now intermittently the speaker will not work, and all I hear is bass from the subwoofer. I have double checked the connection between the sub and the speaker (sub is where the amp is). I'm just wondering what could be happening

Verify the signal to the speaker system isn't intermitent. I am unsure if you are using a PC or other system to drive these.

Alright just updating on this thread. The system is now completely dead. The only thing that's going is the tiny bit of sound when I turn the volume to max, and hear only things from the satellite speaker, no bass whatsoever. I suspect that the amplifier is borked, is there a place around vancouver to fix it?

It is a well known fact that the caps on these units have begun to deteriorate. If you are any good at soldering, then you could probably replace them.

My soldering gun is somewhere in the dark corners of my place. I need to find the right cap though.

Sure. but you are not 100% sure that is the trouble. Do you have a repair center around you?

That's actually what I'm looking for. There's one in Surrey, which is about...more than 100km away from my place. I have no car (student), and would kill myself before I take a ride on the bus with this massive box.

Don't know if there are any local in vancouver I could go to..
