Don't like the pushpins, they are a real pain to install and you never know when one can let go

Keep in mind that after market coolers weigh a lot more and are much higher than the stock HSF. The weight and leverage that they apply on the mobo can cause warping and lead to other issues ...

I have purchased several Zalman coolers over the years and I really like them. They have a quality construction and come with many adaptors to fit different sockets that have large back plates to support the weight. I even have some 7700Cu coolers that are installed on thier 3rd build 478 to 939 to 775.

If you don't plan to overclock, you can turn the fan speed way down and have a really silent system

Just installed the Vendetta2 on my Quad, great cooler. Like you, I didn't want to remove the MB on a a new build. Hopefully you have a lot of room in your case as it was a very tight fit in mine. Hope you got strong fingers...

I agree with the others. You can't go wrong with the OCZ Vendetta 2. Also don't forget to buy a decent fan. The Noctua P12 or the Scythe S-Flex "F" are both very good choices.
