Just ordered these 3 items, lets see what Vendetta 2 can do to get me to 3.6:

OCZ Vendetta 2 Triple Heatpipe CPU Heatsink AM2 LGA775 S939 S940 S754 120MM Fan 800-1500RPM 20-32DBA - DirectCanada

Xigmatek ACK-I7751 Crossbow Mounting Kit for 3 Piece Heat Pipe for HDT-S963 HDT-S1283 RS-S1283 - DirectCanada

Arctic Cooling MX-2 Thermal Compound Paste NON-ELECTRICAL Conductive 4 Gram - DirectCanada

Is MX-2 as good as they say?

I wonder If I can turn Vendetta horizontally so the hot air blows up into the large Antec 900 fan, anyone tried that?

Hey, thanks, but those brackets are for i7 socket, the 775 are out of stock at most retailers. How to properly clean those fins, with compressed air only?

Actually, that V2 bracket does work for both 775 and 1366, although they're not very clear on that. If you look at the picture, you can see two set of mounting holes, one for each socket. I can vouch for that personally, as I'm using that exact setup right now.

I know with the Xigmatek "crossbow" i7 version one side is 775 the other is for i7. I can't imagine there being any dif between the Xigmatek Crossbow and the "official" OCZ version ;)

I know someone who did this with an LGA775. Saved ~2c iirc. I was going to do that with mine but for got in all the excitement of a new MB. After reading the instructions on my tube of AS5 I found out it can take up to 200 hours of usage before seeing it's full potential I decised a remount wasn't going to be worth it.

I made a quick diagram of Vendetta 2 orientation for cases with top fan.
2 things I'm worried about, not enough room due to RAM sticks and heat rising from video card going directly to Vendetta fan.

Well, It would depend on your ram size (mine are pretty tall), and won't work. The Vendetta is roughly 4-1/2" deep and 3-5/8" wide. My ram has monster heat pipes on top so it won't work for me. Maybe that is why I didn't bother changing the orientation. Long time I guess.

Thats how my setup was in my antec 900 with a m3a79-t and vendetta 2. I have normal sized ram though, and other boards may have different layouts, not to mention the fact that my board is am2 and that was the ONLY way i could mount it.

Thats exactly how it looked in the antec 900 as well, just barely any clearence before the top exhaust fan. Theres also this pic of it setup in my old antec 900, the pic is massive though and im too lazy to resize so ill just link to it http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/s...2/100_0192.jpg
