Default D14 without fans enough for a i7 2600k ?

Hello everyone.

Do you think that a Noctua D14 without fans will be able to cool down a i7 2600K ?
That cpu is only running 1 or 3 hrs at the time since i use it only for listening film.

Default d14

I wouldn't try it at stock volts. If you undervolt the 2600k it will likely be fine.

Though unless you need absolute 100% silence I would put a low rpm fan on it. Something near 500rpm would be nearly impossible to hear at a reasonable distance. Scythe makes some ultra-low rpm fans.

I would not recommend it either.

Get some low rpm fans - they will be quiet enough that you will not be able to hear them with a film playing.

In a decent airflow case yes, but if you want silence I think you would be better with low rpm flow case and cooler fans.
