Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 Plus
I picked up this cooler for my 6870 and I have say I am quite impressed. Its a passive vga cooler by default but there are fans available for it. I didn't bother with the fans intended for it but attached 2x92mm Coolermaster Blademaster fans with zipties to it instead. My temps went from 70'C at full load on the gpu to 45'C. I am amazed at the results. Even with the 2x92mm fans at 100% its still much quieter than the stock blower fan at 50%. The only drawback is that its so bloody massive I had to remove one of the side panel fans on my case to make it fit. Its not a cooler for a small system thats for sure. If anyone is looking for a great cooler that performs extremely well(with the right fans) then this might be your best bet. At $18.88 price matched it was a steal.

Pricematched and picked up one of these up after seeing your post. Improved the temperatures greatly on my 6850. The heatsinks for the vrm's needed some modification to fit though. I zip tied a 80mm panaflo @ 7v and it is much quieter than stock. Max temps so far have been the low 50s vs high 60s when using the stock cooler.

I have the previous model (the S1 rev 2) on three out of my four Radeon 5770's and I can overclock like hell and still run way cooler than the stock option. Arctic's Accelero is the best bang for the buck in GPU cooling, if you need better cooling a full water loop is the next step. I just wish they would make an affordable model with a bigger base for hotter cards like my GTX 460's or Radeon 6950
