Default My $11 EVGA Superclock Cooler arrived today

Nice cooler.

It was on a clearance sale at NCIX.com for $11 last week so I grabbed one. I top out at 64'C in Prime 95 Small FFT torture tests on i7 960 3.2ghz @ 4.02ghz. Knocks about 10'c off my Coolit ECO II 120 temps. Had to remove a side fan to make this monster fit. I was a bit disapointed that it only allows one fan but I mounted it with the fan pushing the air up thru the heatsink and out a fan on top of my case. Its a tight squeeze in my MSI Interceptor Nighthawk case but it works quite well.

Its a great fan if you can find it on discount like I did. Reviews I read put it up the with the Noctua DH-14 and CH-14. At $11 I feel like I stoled it. Its not longer available at NCIX.com sadly.

Saw the sale, but it's a good thing I chose a noctua NH-C14, because my case is wedged full.

Yeah this was difficult to squeeze in too but it just fits. I was able to get my other side fan back on but I have just one screw in it and have it diagonal now leaning on the one below it. D14 is too big for my case and c14 would probably be just as tight. I'm liking this thing though. I don't have to worry about folding temps if it tops out at 65'C in prime thats for sure.

One thing I forgot to mention though is that when I installed it the mounting plate that goes on top of the motherboard bent quite easily. The spring loaded screws provided were supposed to bottom out but they kept going without any resistance so I ended up bending the plate quite a bit. Everything still seems fine though. I just hope I didn't damage my board or anything. Other than that it was a great night for folding. Topped out at 61'C. My coolit eco II would be 85'C or so.
