Somebody should come up with a fan design that has the fan motor in the outside casing instead of in the center. The blades would be joined together by an uninterrupted circle around the radii's circumference. A high speed motor could use friction to spin the fan at low (quiet) speeds. This would negate the need for arms, and you could make the two sides of the fan symmetrical (stickers, whatever)

They should make it like a Turbo Prop. Though that might result in lost fingers.

Well I was really hoping that someone would make a fan like normal but have the fins flipped the other way so the blades would still be sweeping forwards and still have optimal efficiency instead of just having a regular fan go in reverse.

It's for the top 3 fan spots for the CM Cosmos S so it's very easy to see top fans especially since the case is pretty much on the floor.

Just remember a turbo prop the blades change pitch so the flow of air goes in reverse.
In any case you could design a fan blade in a way that they would make air flow the same amount in forward or reverse.

Yeah, all that needs to change here would be the pitch of the blades from one direction to another (assuming symetrical design of blades). This is driving me nuts... I'm sure I've had a few fans that were the reverse of standard, but no amount of google fu is coming up with something useful. ;)

You know if you had a small servo in the area where motor is you could make blades change pitch
the servos now a days do come pretty small. Then have a control on the front of your case with a knob that controls the speed and direction of the fan.

I have been doing the same thing with no luck as well. I know I have seen some but, you think I could remember where..

You can't change the pitch of the blades. You would have to completely remold the blades to work opposite to how they are now.

Here 120mm Silent Reverse Fan K0001

Yes exactly like those but with the mounts on the other side of the fan.
