SG07 w/ Noctua C14 So, I have a Zotac Z68 ITX A-E. I want to add a GPU and I'm wondering if the C14 will also fit in...There is no 'northbridge' heatsink on the mobo, so the PCIE slot is EXTREMELY close to the CPU socket. Anyone think it will fit? |
I'd say a 140mm fan cooler is a bit too big for that board. And the reason for the lack of north bridge cooler is that the memory control and onboard VGA is on the CPU now, so boards you see with a 'northbridge' cooler it's usually a 3rd party chipset like a nf200 for more PCI-E slots. What Processor are you trying to cool? as you may not need such a over sized behemoth. |
lol, don't worry, i know why there's no northbridge. its just that on larger motherboards, they just stick the heatsink there for decoration purposes. 2600K EDIT: i THINK it would fit if i can mount the heatsink so the heatpipes are parallel to the PCIE slots, but i m not sure if noctuas mounting system allows that. |
Noctua's mounting system allows for mounting in any orientation on intel sockets. |
SWEET, that is great news :) |
