200x20mm fan that isn't Sleeve bearing?

Hey all,

I recently put some Noctua's in my 650D and I'm looking to replace the front 200mm with something good. But it seems that the only fans I can get that are 200mm x 20mm are Bitfenix sleeve bearing fans.

Are there any that exist? :(

Why whats wrong with sleeve bearings? because you have the fan mounted on the front of the case (vertical) it will be fine

Cut off the lip on the edge of the drive cage and you'll be able to fit a thicker fan.

Sleeve bearing fans should not be mounted vertically as they cannot lubricate the entire bearing as efficiently as ball, FDB or whatnot. Also Sleeve bearings are louder than the alternatives I seek.

Oddly enough those Bitfenix 200mmx20mm fans are FDB, I swear they said Sleeve... maybe I was looking at older versions.

This might be my only option, the new Bitfenix Spectre Pro's are 200mm x 25mm and push 145~CFM @ 900RPM and 27~db. We'll see for sure once they're tested but I'd love one of those in my case if the stats are close to purported.

FDB's and most of the other marketed names are basically fancied up sleeve bearings. Mounting the fans horizontally will reduce the lifespan and possibly increase bearing noise, but it's not anything to be overly concerned about.

Someone put 200mm's in their 600t's. I don't know if they're the same mounting as the 650d's

Yea same guy, posted here as well. the 200x20mm fans fit fine, that's the same as the Corsair fans. Now I'm waiting for someone to put Bitfenix Spectre Pro's in a 650D. Ramguy on Corsair forums said it's not possible without removing the drive cage or modding it slightly.

Well, trust the guys from Corsair. They know their cases. Their fans are only 20mm fans. That's why our regular spectre's will fit. the 200mm spectre pro's are 25mm in width.

EDIT: They do fit. Follow instructions here, thanks to LSV for testing it out.
