Default Venomous X or H100?
Basically thinking of doing a bit of upgrading together with some CPU overclocking.

Stock coolers are out of the questions and well I've been looking at either the Venomous X or the Corsair H100.

Which would be best in terms of value for money, sound from fan etc.

(PS will probs wait for Ivy core but may as well put this out there now.)

H100 rad can be tricky to mount depending on your case we need to know what your case and other specs are first. Also if you don't have low profile ram you might not be able to get your venomous x on either.

Kay atm i'm looking at the 500R case so mounting it shouldn't be a problem at all.

Why not get the H80 instead of those two? Great temps, easy to install (something the H100 aint) and all round a great cooler. Unless you plan for insane OC's it will be a great fit. YMMV but thats what I plan on doing for my socket 2011 build. :)

Yeah I was actually looking at that as well as the Antec 620 or 920 as well but then looking at some reviews the Venomous X actually outperformed them and it costs lesser or smth but I'm looking at the H100 as it could potentially out perform the Venomous X? but i'm not sure thus the thread

The only way a ven x will beat a H80 is if the case you are using it in has GREAT air flow...and even then I have serious doubts.

After looking at it a little, I've decided to either go for the H80 or H100

Thermalright Venomous X CPU Cooler Review

Looking at the results and comparing them as well as price etc, its roughly 15 dollars-ish price difference between the H80 and the Venomous X in Australia
and the H100 is approximately 20 dollars more then the H80. Would it be worth the extra 20 dollars for the 6 degrees difference between the H80 and H100?

H80 all the way. Don't forget that when you're running the H100 as an exhaust, all the hot air from the video card and other components will go directly into the radiator, so the temps won't be that better than a H80.
