My System Specs

Default System Temps

Ok, got my new case and transferred over the components.

Right now kind of concerned on the HDD temp. Any idea of what it should be at?

Stats:

i5-750 (non-OC'd) w/ CM Hyper 612 CPU Cooler w/ Heatsink
WDC 500GB SATA2 HDD
Corsair 650HX PSU
Silverstone Rev2-E Case

Also, any idea what my CPU should be pulling at?

CPU is listed at 50C
System Temp is listed at 41C

I am thinking of re-mounting the CPU and Heatsink/Fan. If I do, any particular thermal compound to look at? CPU Cooling ok or should I look at another?

I think those temps look fine for the cpu are running. Did you try HWmonitor or some other program similiar to that?

Checked via Aida64. Grabbed HWMonitor and the temps given from that are:

CPU- About 60C over the 4 cores
HDD- 62C
GPU - 56C (fans at 40%).

I am down in Florida so not sure exactly what my temps should be overall.

Do you have any idea what the ambient temperature is down there. The hdd seems a tad high, but not entirely sure.

Mine are showing:

CPU - 63C Intel C2D E6300 running at 1.86Ghz
HDD- 36C
GPU- 60C -- thats from both HWmonitor and ATI Overdrive. I have both the Core and memory OC'd on it, with fans up at 75%- plus it is currently folding

Ambient here is about 16C at the moment

Without some form of super cooling you will never get your temps below ambient. The temps you are reporting for the cpu and gpu look okay. I still think that the hdd one seems high, but I am unsure of what the normal temp for your hdd is.

62 c in an enclosed space can be normal. get some airflow on it.

also if any of my drives went up that high, nowadays,i would wipe them and be done with them. mid 50's ok. low 60's and more you are asking for trouble

back in the day you could cook eggs on them lol, today? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Well, it is an older SATA2 drive, and as I stated, live in FL so got a higher ambient temp to work with than you gents up there. Even though it was about 80F in my apartment, outside was 95F+ and that was late afternoon.

Thanks for all the help, gonna try and grab a newer HDD when the $$$ permits.

Also think I'm gonna go re-apply the CPU heatsink/fan as well.
