Coolermaster V6GT on Asus P8P67 Deluxe? Anyone put the CM V6GT on the Asus P8P67 deluxe? I am just wondering if anyone ran into clearance issues with this cooler, especially with ram and tall heat spreaders. Its on my consideration list for coolers and would prefer to know if there are going to be any issues before I make a purchase. |
with super tall ram sticks and larger coolers you will always have issues, no two ways around it. stick with low profile sticks and thou shalt be fine. unless you want to use your vengeance pair. still the v6's price is awfully close to the new hr-02 macho(which you should get if you dont want to run fanless, then get the regular one as it will beat it well) |
not true dan :) Some cooler are made to fit larger ram :P but the V6GY is not. BUT! it will fit no problem using normal ram ;) |
Well I have both Corsair Vengeance ram and GSkill Ripjaws available to me at the moment. Both ram sets have tall heat spreaders, with the vengeance being by far the taller of the two. Akg's review of the V6GT on these forums has a picture of it mounted on a X58 board, and appears to have plenty of room to spare. Been looking at lots of images for the cooler this evening and can't find any decnet ones shwoing it on an Asus P67 board. Might have to go do some careful measuring on my board to check. |
I have the V6GT on an ASUS P8Z68-V board, and there really isn't room to fit any ram that's bigger than 'standard' height. On my board, the V6 leaves next to no clearance with the ram. |
