Interesting. My PC at work has a p35-ds3r that I'm probably going to swap with my 935p-ds3 at home. On the ds3r the NB is fairly cool to the touch but the SB is hot enough to be very uncomfortable to the touch and this is only @ 333MHz FSB. Seems to be completely opposite of what most report.

HR-05 SLI should work.

Just ordered the HR-05 SLI for $30...pricematched DC with NCIX. Then the $10 shipping brings it back up to NCIX's retail price, so we have $18+$10+tax = $30. Not bad I don't think.

Finally my SB will have some cooling. Can't believe I haven't damaged anything yet with my OC and unprotected SB. Thanks for your help everyone.

**EDIT: Just double checked the compatibility list and...the HR-05 SLI is not compatible with my DS3R southbridge. Looks like the bugger is going to be naked for a little while longer yet. **

**EDIT 2: After looking around, I realized that my NB needs some cooling too and the stock Giga HS for it isn't doing a good job, the HS is really, really warm to the touch. I think I will have to resign to a low profile SB HS if I can't find out about the HR-05 SLI compatibility, but at least I can get an HR-05 IFX for my NB. **

You might just want to get two little 40 mm fans($ 5) that you attach to the standard heatsinks....did that on my DS3L and it brought temps down to the low 40s!

I don't understand why the compatibility page (HR-05 / IFX Series & HR-09 Series Compatibility List) shows that the HR-05 works, while the HR-05 SLI won't. Doesn't make any sense.

Where are you getting those temps readings from?

Emailed TR about the HR-05 SLI's compatibility with my SB. Hopefully I will get a response soon and will let you know what they say.

I would bite the bullet and order it in advance, except I am unsure whether or not I can return it to NCIX.

If it is not compatible, I will have to get the the enzotech SLF-1 low profile copper HS for my SB, since nothing else will fit under my GTX. What an adventure this has been. Maybe this will let me OC more...

So after the email I got back from TR, I didn't feel confident getting the SLI for my SB.

I thought "ok, I will get the Enzo SLF-1". Arrived today and...does not fit on my motherboard. the bracket on the HS hits some capacitors and the jumper for clearing the bios. Fantastic!

Plus, I have been getting the run around from both Gigabyte and the retailer where I bought my board, regarding getting a GA HS for my board.

What a day. Any suggestions?

Can you describe which parts of the heatsink are not lining up for the Thermalright? It may not be perfect, but I think you should be able to jimmy fit the pegs in there...
